Tropical Fish Hand Carved Wood Sculpture

Hand Carved Cocobolo Wood Home Decor Sculpture.

This carving is not cocobolo or from Panama. I do not remember where I bought it but it is a lovely carving someone will enjoy.

⭐ARTISAN MADE: by Panamanian indigenous artisans using passed down wood carving techniques that are rooted deep in Embera and Wounaan traditions. Created by hand, demonstrating the unique skill of the Panama artisan community, and supporting one-of-a-kind pieces in a world homogenized by mass production.

⭐FAIR TRADE & MADE IN PANAMA: Made under safe working conditions and fair income. MolaMagic provides equitable trade opportunities, Job development skill training and promoting responsible production in the Panamanian economy. Our Cocobolo Wood cravings are proudly made in Panama.

⭐THE COCOBOLO STORY: Cocobolo is a tropical hardwood which grows in many Central American countries. The color is mostly orange or reddish-brown, often with darker irregular traces weaving through the wood. Cocobolo wood is so dense that it will sink in water! It also has an extremely high natural oil content which lends a strong, unmistakable floral odor.

⭐WOMEN FOUNDED: MolaMagic was envisioned by Janet Marie Brockman with the mission to empower the Indigenous Women of Color of Panama by helping them reach a global market for their handmade products. For the past twenty years all sales revenues have been reinvested into the artisan community of Panama. This includes education, medical care, land purchase, tools, and other needs.
