Handwoven on traditional wooden looms in Peru, the Kulsi Collection reflects the skill, dedication, and heritage of Andean artisans whose craft has been passed down through generations. Each throw is created with meticulous attention to detail, merging classic weaving traditions with a refined, contemporary aesthetic.
Crafted from a sustainable blend of undyed mottled silver and ivory alpaca fibers paired with Peruvian Pima cotton, these throws highlight the natural beauty and authentic tones of alpaca fleece. The Pima cotton adds a silky, gentle softness, resulting in a mid-weight textile that feels luxurious, breathable, and perfectly suited for year-round use.
A beautifully textured handwoven pattern gives every throw its own distinct character, while the hand-tied fringe offers a graceful finishing touch—showcasing the artisan’s personal artistry. Each element reflects a commitment to preserving cultural weaving traditions while bringing timeless craftsmanship into the modern home.
At Purple Nest Design, we proudly support these heritage practices and offer textiles that carry meaningful stories and enduring beauty.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Who makes this?
Handloomed on traditional wooden looms by master weavers in the highlands of Peru.
Is alpaca itchy?
No. Alpaca has no lanolin and a smoother fiber than wool, so most people who find wool scratchy find alpaca soft.
How is alpaca different from wool or cashmere?
Alpaca is warmer than wool for its weight, yet light and breathable thanks to its hollow fiber, so it works year-round. It is also stronger than cashmere: cashmere is soft but delicate, while alpaca gives you softness that lasts for years with simple care.
