As a PhD chemical engineer, and lifelong surfer, Guerry Grune knows firsthand what's at stake in the sun. After watching a close friend receive a melanoma diagnosis, he set out to engineer a sunscreen he could trust ā one made entirely from food-grade ingredients, free from synthetic chemicals, and safe for the reefs he surfs. That mission became 3rd Rock Essentials.

The 3rd Rock SunblockĀ® For Infants is an all-natural, zinc oxide-based infant sunscreen formulated specifically for babies' sensitive skin. This infant sunscreen offers SPF 35 protection using a patented zinc oxide formula that provides the most robust UVA and UVB protection among all sunscreen brands tested independently. The product is made exclusively with food-grade ingredients, ensuring it is free from toxins, parabens, endocrine disruptors, and synthetic chemicals, making it suitable for infant skin.
Constructed from natural, organic materials, the infant sunscreen includes 23.5% zinc oxide, jojoba oil, olive fruit oil, aloe vera leaf gel, beeswax with propolis, orange peel wax, and Vitamin E, ensuring high-quality, skin-nourishing components. It has a pH that is alkaline (not acidic), which supports long-term skin health and reduces potential DNA damage from UVA rays. The infant sunscreen is designed to be highly water and sweat resistant, making it suitable for outdoor activities, including swimming at the beach or pool.
Its dimensions include a 3.3 oz (118 ml) tube, easy to apply on infant skin without abrasion or sting. The formula is hypoallergenic, tested safe for all skin types, and free from endocrine disruptors and toxins. This infant sunscreen is also PETA and Leaping Bunny approved, indicating no animal testing and cruelty-free ingredients. It surpasses many conventional brands, including Elta, Alba, Badger, and Honest Company, in safety and natural composition.
Use cases for this product are primarily for infants during outdoor sun exposure, suitable for everyday use, beach trips, and outdoor play areas. It is ideal for parents seeking a non-toxic, gentle, yet effective sunscreen for their baby's delicate skin, prioritizing safety and natural ingredients while providing reliable UVA/UVB protection.
Each box ships with one 3.3 oz tube of 3rd Rock SunblockĀ® Infant Sunscreen.
